It's weird, Lily is so real to me. The manuscript for the third book I read twice. And for some reason I cried at the end both times. My partner thought I was weird saying "there's nothing in the book to cry about!" I guess I was really happy and proud of Lily.
Oh that is really nice.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how in the beginning of creating Lily I just couldn't 'sense' her (it was like she was very shy) but after a while we clicked.
Being given characters or meeting them in the first instance is a wonderful part of writing. And I imagine it is the same when you are illustrating.
